As part of his effort and determination to complement Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Enterprise Development Drive and youth empowerment, the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has charged youth of the state to continually take advantage of the numerous opportunities offered by the present administration for self development.
The Speaker, who made this known recently during an unscheduled visit to Phase-Two, Batch-2 Trainees under his initiative, the Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey Youth Entrepreneurship Support Scheme (RHAB-YESS), in Uyo, Okayed the progress levels of the trainees.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the visit, the Speaker, who was represented by Managers of the Scheme, Mr. Darlington Udobong and Mr. Godswill Bassey, explained that “RHAB-YESS’ focus and approach to young entrepreneurs and women are holistic through Capital Financing/Funding of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs); Skill empowerment of Artisans, and educational support to indigent students.”
“Our belief in empowerment through human capital development and skill acquisition remains unparalleled. So far, we have trained over 28 young Akwa Ibom sons and daughters in skilled areas including Wood/Metal Work, Pipe Cutting/Fitting, Welding/Weld Repairs, Onshore/Offshore Drilling, Argon Welding among others. We are still counting,” they further hinted.
The RHAB-YESS Phase-Two, Batch-2 Trainees are 15 young Akwa Ibom sons undergoing intensive training in Oven-Baked Spraying, Repairs and Maintenance of automobiles with Insutel Motors Limited.
