Senator Aniekan Bassey of the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District has collaborated with the National Film and Video Censor Board to empower and train youths of the district on Strategic Leadership and Policy Making for Management Development.
The 4-day event, held at the Conference Hall of the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District Secretariat, Uyo, brought together young leaders that are eager to enhance their capacity for effective leadership and governance.
The training was flagged off by the Uyo Senatorial District Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Inemesit Itina, who commended Senator Bassey’s commitment to youth development.
In his remarks, Dr. Itina highlighted the importance of equipping young people with the requisite skills to drive change and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic growth of Akwa Ibom vis-a-vis Nigeria.
Speaking, the Director General of Team Aniekan Bassey, Barrister Godwin Awah, Ph.D, who represented the Senator at the event, conveyed the Senator’s vision of fostering a new generation of leaders capable of navigating complex policy environments.
“This training underscores our commitment to investing in human capital development, which is critical to building a prosperous and self-reliant society,” he stated.
Some of the participants including Mr. Ubong Edem (Whiteboy) and Mr. Michael James, who were exposed to modules on leadership strategies, policy formulation, and management development, commended Senator Bassey for the priceless empowerment
They maintained that the empowerment training is a testament to Senator Bassey’s dedication to human capacity building and deliberate development of the senatorial district.
Many attendees including Bella Uya Michael, Kufre Okon Emah and Janet Effiong Edet expressed gratitude for the opportunity done and noted that the knowledge gained would not only benefit their personal growth but also empower them to make impactful contributions to Akwa Ibom and Nigeria.
High-point of the event was the interactive sessions and presentation of certificates to participants.
